  • What Customers Say

With a 3.8-star rating from over 360 reviews, customer sentiment is generally positive regarding the selection but mixed regarding service. Real customers frequently praise the 'massive variety' and 'unbeatable prices' for quick fixes. Specific positives include 'finding exactly what I needed for a few euros' and 'convenient location.' Common complaints center around the 'impersonal service' and occasional language barriers with staff. Some reviewers mention that it can get very crowded during peak tourist season, leading to longer wait times at the checkout. Overall, it is viewed as a reliable warehouse for affordable goods rather than a high-end shopping experience.

    About This Practice

  • Almacen Wang is not a medical clinic or a licensed optometry practice; it is a large-scale 'Almacén' (warehouse) that provides essential retail optical goods. It specializes in providing immediate, off-the-shelf solutions for tourists and residents who have lost their glasses or need affordable sun protection.
  • For tourists, it serves as a vital resource for 'emergency' eyewear that doesn't require a professional prescription, such as reading glasses ranging from +1.00 to +3.50 diopters.
  • Facility & Team

  • The facility is a large, warehouse-style retail space with wide aisles and categorized sections.
  • Unlike a medical office, the staff are retail assistants rather than licensed optometrists. They can help locate specific styles or strengths but cannot perform eye exams or diagnose vision conditions.
  • The environment is functional and efficient, designed for high-volume retail rather than private medical consultation.
  • What to Expect During Your Visit

  • Visitors can simply walk in during operating hours; there is no check-in process.
  • The eyewear section allows for self-service testing of reading glasses.
  • Wait times are generally limited to the checkout line, which moves quickly despite the store's popularity.
  • Location & Accessibility

  • Located on Carrer del Pare Josep Manxarrell, the store is situated in a commercial area of Eivissa (Ibiza Town).
  • It is within walking distance for those staying in the city center and is easily accessible via local bus routes.
  • The storefront is ground-level with wide entrances, making it fully wheelchair and stroller accessible.
  • Why Tourists Choose Them

  • The primary draw is the price point; sunglasses and reading glasses here are a fraction of the cost found in beachfront boutiques.
  • It is a practical choice for expats needing household items alongside their optical accessories.
  • Safety & Standards

  • Products sold generally meet standard EU safety markings (CE) for UV protection, though they lack the specialized lens technology found in medical-grade optical shops.
  • The store follows standard Spanish retail hygiene and safety protocols.
  • Booking & Practical Info

  • No booking is required. Payment is accepted via cash and most major international credit/debit cards.
  • Pricing is transparently marked on each item, eliminating the need for quotes or insurance claims.
