Farmacia Vazquez Perez is a cornerstone of healthcare in Santa Eulària des Riu, one of Ibiza's most popular and family-friendly tourist destinations. Located at C/ de Molins de Rei, 10, this pharmacy is strategically positioned to serve both the local residential community and the high volume of international tourists who visit the nearby beaches and hotels. The pharmacy is easily accessible on foot for those staying in the central Santa Eulària area and is a short distance from the marina and the main bus station, making it a convenient stop for travelers arriving from Ibiza Town or the airport. For those traveling by car, there is street parking available, though it can be busy during the peak summer months. One of the most critical aspects of Farmacia Vazquez Perez for visitors is its operating schedule. While the pharmacy maintains robust daily hours from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, it also participates in the 'Farmacia de Guardia' (on-call) system common throughout Spain. This system ensures that at least one pharmacy in the municipality remains open 24 hours a day to handle emergencies. The specific hours provided, including a midnight closure on Mondays and a midnight opening on Tuesdays, indicate its scheduled rotation within this vital safety net. For tourists, this means that even if this specific location is closed on a Sunday, a sign will always be posted in the window directing you to the nearest open 'Farmacia de Guardia.' Recognizing the international nature of Ibiza, Farmacia Vazquez Perez prides itself on having staff members who speak English. This is a significant advantage for tourists who may struggle to explain medical symptoms or specific pharmaceutical needs in Spanish. The pharmacists are trained to provide medication counseling in English, ensuring that visitors understand dosage instructions and potential side effects. Whether you are dealing with a minor ailment like a jellyfish sting from the Santa Eulària beach or a more complex medical issue, the ability to communicate clearly with a healthcare professional provides immense peace of mind. Regarding prescriptions, the pharmacy is well-equipped to handle the needs of international visitors. While Spanish law is strict regarding certain medications, Farmacia Vazquez Perez can often fulfill prescriptions from other EU countries provided they meet specific regulatory requirements. For non-EU tourists (such as those from the US or UK), the pharmacists can offer guidance on equivalent over-the-counter (OTC) medications available in Spain or advise on how to see a local private doctor to have a foreign prescription converted into a Spanish one. Beyond standard medications, the pharmacy stocks an extensive range of health products and medical supplies. This includes professional-grade sunscreens and after-sun care, which are essential given the intense Balearic sun. They also offer a wide selection of insect repellents, first aid kits, and travel-sized hygiene products. Families traveling with infants will find a comprehensive section dedicated to baby care, including specialized formulas, diapers, and soothing creams. For those concerned about COVID-19 or other viral illnesses, the pharmacy provides rapid antigen tests and high-quality masks. In addition to its retail and dispensing functions, Farmacia Vazquez Perez offers several in-house health services. These include blood pressure monitoring, weight checks, and minor wound care advice. They are also a primary point of contact for emergency contraception (the 'morning-after pill'), which is available without a prescription in Spain. The pharmacy's commitment to the community is reflected in its high rating and positive reviews, with many customers noting the professional and helpful nature of the staff. For any tourist in Santa Eulària, Farmacia Vazquez Perez represents a reliable, professional, and accessible resource for all health-related needs, ensuring that your holiday in Ibiza remains safe and healthy.
