La atención deja muchísimo que desear, desde el hombre de recepción que ni siquiera saluda, hasta la propia enfermera que es incapaz de hacer su trabajo. Una experiencia lamentable.

    About This Practice

  • FREMAP Ibiza operates as a Mutual Insurance Company (Mutua) collaborating with the Spanish Social Security system. Unlike a general private clinic or a public hospital, its primary specialization is the management of labor-related health. This makes it a critical hub for the local workforce, including the large number of seasonal expat workers who power Ibiza's tourism industry. They specialize in traumatology, orthopedic surgery, and physical rehabilitation, ensuring that workers recover quickly and safely from on-the-job injuries.
  • Facility & Team

  • The center features a modern clinical environment designed for high patient turnover. It includes specialized areas for diagnostic imaging (X-rays), medical consultation rooms, and a large, well-equipped physiotherapy gym. The team consists of specialized trauma doctors, occupational health nurses, and a dedicated rehabilitation staff. While Spanish and Catalan are the primary languages, the medical staff often has a working knowledge of English given the international nature of Ibiza’s workforce.
  • What to Expect During Your Visit

  • Upon arrival, patients must present their DNI/Passport and proof of employment or their 'Mutua' card. The process is highly structured: check-in at the front desk, followed by a wait for a triage or medical consultation. For rehabilitation, patients are assigned a schedule for regular sessions. Because this is a work-accident center, the focus is highly clinical and objective, aimed at assessing functional capacity.
  • Location & Accessibility

  • Located on Carrer de Pere Francès, the facility is situated in the heart of Ibiza Town. It is within walking distance of the main port and the central bus station (CETIS), making it highly accessible for those without a car. The facility is on the ground floor with wide doors, ensuring full wheelchair accessibility. Street parking in the area (Blue Zone) can be extremely difficult during peak season, so public transport or taxis are recommended.
  • Why Tourists and Workers Choose Them

  • For tourists, FREMAP is generally only relevant if they are working remotely or locally under a Spanish contract and suffer an injury 'in itinere' (on the way to or from work) or at the workplace. For the expat community, it is the primary point of contact for receiving paid medical leave (baja) and specialized recovery services without the long wait times of the general public health system (IB-Salut).
  • Safety & Standards

  • FREMAP follows strict ISO quality standards and Spanish national healthcare protocols. As a partner of the Social Security, they adhere to rigorous medical ethics and data protection laws. During health crises, they implement full sanitization protocols and mandatory masking where required by Balearic health authorities.
  • Booking & Practical Info

  • Appointments for initial accidents are typically handled as urgent walk-ins if the company provides the necessary 'Volante de Asistencia' (referral form). Follow-up appointments and rehab are scheduled in advance. Note that FREMAP is not a private 'pay-per-visit' clinic for general illnesses; services are covered through employer social security contributions.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I go to FREMAP if I am a tourist with a cold?
